Medellin.co is not a government agency nor do we work with directly with the Fiscalia. This is just a public service we would like to provide for Foreigners or Tourists that have a hard time navigating through the Fiscalia process.

Who is this form for?

If you were involved in a crime or witnessed a crime, and you don't know Spanish or find it hard to navigate through the Fiscalia form. You can use this form to file your criminal or complaint report We also have tourists have that been involved in petty theft that need a police report for insurance reasons.
Yes, If you were a victim or involved of a crime We advice you to file report regardless if you're in Medellin. A lot of tourists get involved in a crime and need to leave the country. It shouldn't stop you from reporting it. The police need to know what happened.
Yes, spoke with Fiscalia and they're happy that we're providing this service. It helps them get reports from foreigners that are having complications reading through their current process.
Yes, There's no payment required its a public service we're providing to help.

Privacy

How is my personal information protected?

The data entered into the platform is secured, and encryped. We do not keep any of the sensitive data. All Data entered into the platform is sent to the Fiscalia. As soon as you hit the submit button the data is cleared from our server.
We created this app.medelin.co because its a closed secured enviroment. It doesn't create any cookies, or save any type of data.
Fiscalia agents will have full access to your report. No other person would have any authority to access your information or report.

Process & Procedures

What happens after I submit my report?

Fiscalia will receive your report, they typically respond within 24-48 hours, it may take longer but from our experience they typically respond within that time.
Filing online is easier, the form is in English. Majority of our readers that need help with filing a crime report don't speak Spanish. If you need to go the Fiscalia office, we can assign a translator to help you, please contact us.
Yes its possible to get a police report for your insurance claim. The Fiscalia can handle that for you. Our form does not have the authority to provide that police report, you will need to file your claim and then wait for them to get back to you. They will provide you with a police report number.
It can get confusing which type of crime to report, try to report to the best of your knowledge. Regardless it will go to the fiscalia and they will be able to handle the claim.
To completed the form it typically takes about 5-10 minutes, maybe shorter if you have all your information available, and your story straight.

Technology

What Browsers Do I Need To Use?

We tested the platform on Windows Brave, Chrome, Internet Explore Browers. For Mac Users it was tested on all popular browsers and Safari. Mobile Phones iOS, Android based phones. You can also use the browser in Incognito Mode.
Unfortunately, if you lose your internet connection while filling out the crime report form, your progress will not be automatically saved. You will need to start over from the beginning when you reconnect to the internet.
For security purposes, your session will automatically expire after 30 minutes of inactivity. This means if you don't interact with the form for 30 minutes, your session will be destroyed and you will need to start over.
